Day #3 Preparing for Earth Day and Creating Game Servers

Another day, another blog update! Today was the busiest day by far compared to the other two but I enjoyed today far more than any previous day so far. I decided to get into at 8am so I can discuss some previous issues with one of the devices. The night before during the rehearsal of "Ada and the Engine" (I recommend everyone come watch it on May 12th and 13th), the projectors were flickering when videos were being played on it. After some investigating, we concluded that it could be either the splitter hub(a external device that allows us to play videos on multiple output sources such as a projector) or Qlab(The software used to play and display the videos). This morning, after much troubleshooting, we figured out that the Black Magic capture cards were getting hot and letting them cool off seemed to have fixed the issue!

On a more progressive note, I've finally managed to properly provision the necessary resources to create a underlying server to host the Minecraft Server, preparing to launch and configure the game files and add in fun game modifications and complex administrative tools to keep the server appropriate for the Proctor community.

However, Earth Day is tomorrow and I am leading a presentation on the importance of recycling old tech equipment, the benefits and I will later assist James Cox (Director of ITS at Proctor Academy) on leading some Proctor students to an E-Waste dump. Looks like Minecraft is going to be on hold but it's looking to be a fun day ahead!
